Don’t you just love it when you can see the Word of God in action?  I do.

My last two weeks are about as different from each other as I can imagine. Two weeks ago mine was one-foot-in-front-of-the other kind of living, doing what was right because it’s the right thing to do and I reminded myself every day to keep the pace (and the faith). Two weeks ago was definitely a “walk” kind of a week – or maybe “trudge” is the better word.

This last week was just the opposite. Life was on a dead run by comparison and it seemed we were flying low a couple days.  I smiled as I arrived just barely on time a few times, and enjoyed when I had a few minutes to spare before my next appointment or commitment.

I went from getting up early so I could think and write in the early morning quiet, to getting up early this week so I could beat the snarls of morning rush hour.

Somewhere in the middle of things these last two weeks I remembered something Isaiah wrote.  He said:  They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.  (Is 40.31)

How encouraging to see it in action lately.  We don’t like to wait. Not even on the Lord.  But it’s good for us to wait on Him.  Flying fast is exciting, scary sometimes.  Run, run, running wears us out.  Trudging through the daily grind isn’t for the faint of heart, either, especially if it’s yet another week of looking for employment or fighting an ongoing health concern.  Perhaps that’s why God penned those words and placed them where we could read and remember.

Wait on Him.

Draw on His strength.

The results will bring a smile as you realize,

“He meant it.  He loves me. He does provide!”
