After the dishes have been cleared away and you’ve heard that sigh-of-relief: “Mmmm what a good day (but so much work!)”

After the kids and grandkids have found something to do to occupy themselves

After the football game on TV has a final score and commentators have run out of things to say,  or run out of time.

When everything quiets down for a moment this Thanksgiving Day, consider these words:

Life without thankfulness is devoid of love and passion.

Hope without thankfulness is lacking in fine perception.

Faith without thankfulness lacks strength and fortitude.

Every virtue divorced from thankfulness is maimed and limps along the spiritual road.

— John Henry Jowett

Happy Thanksgiving.
